MIU Hybrid Dual Portable Computer

MIU’s upcoming Hybrid Dual Portable Computer (HDPC) will come in a couple of models – the basic and premium versions, where the latter will feature GPS navigation as well as dictionary functions. Both models will feature standard wireless options (we’re probably looking at Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity), dual operating systems that run on Windows XP and CE, as well as cell phone capability. Gonna be quite bulky trying to hold a conversation with that, so we’d strongly recommend getting a comfortable Bluetooth headset to go along. The basic model will retail for $500, which is $500 cheaper than the premium one

and less equipped out-of-the-box, although you can introduce additional features via a SIM-like card and application download. MIU has to finish up 100 sets of samples before it enters mass production. Do you think HDPCs will be a new breed of devices, or will it produce a whimper on the scene as a niche product?
