Only One Maemo Device In 2010?

For those of you are who huge fans of Nokia’s N900 and Maemo, it’s probably a little disappointing to get wind of reports that indicate that Nokia will only be rolling out one Maemo device in 2010. Aside from that, a Nokia spokesperson stated that the company is firmly committed to Symbian as their smartphone platform of choice. With the recent waning interest in S60, it might actually be an notion for Nokia to put additional focus into Maemo and see how things turn out.

Kindle Is The Top Seller On Amazon

With the popularity of Barnes & Noble’s Nook e-book reader, you’d hardly expect the most crucial device in that field to be left out, right? Right, and that’s why Amazon is claiming that the Kindle is the best selling device on Amazon. Too poor that they didn’t release any actual sales figures for the device, so it seems that we’ll have to rely on guesswork as to how many Kindle units Amazon has sold.

N900 Bug Leads To Useful Portrait Mode

Those of you who already own a Nokia N900, you might seriously want to text someone with just one hand. Thanks to the bug, you’ll be able to see everything and use it with just one hand. Of course, you won’t get the tactile feedback like a physical keyboard, but a portrait oriented Nokia N900 is quite cool. Check out a video of it in action here.

JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser

One of the wackier home-made vehicles to instance, the JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser cum Tank was specially built and designed by NAO Design of Palo Alto, California back in 2002. that is an actual motorized vehicle that can be purchased directly from Amazon, although it will cost you a cool $20,000 to bring one home. Nicknamed “The Donk”, that amazing piece of engineering will run on a quartet of off-road wheels that have been carefully hidden by a different industrial-strength rubberized flexible skirt which offers protection to the wheels to within an inch of the ground. It can seat up to 4 folks within, but two would be best whether comfort is at the top of your list.

HTC Hero runs on Android 2.1

Someone spotted the HTC Hero which is running on Android 2.1, which more or less confirms that Google has a minor update in the works for their Eclair update. The interface doesn’t look too changed from its 1.5 version, and we still have no concept when all of it will be available since other carrier-branded versions might have to wait for a fair bit.

Fashion phone concept

Check out that concept of a fashion phone that brings back memories of those round-dials found on retro house phones. that model comes with a projected light beam in the inner circle to represent that of a rotary dial, but you won’t need to turn anything with that since it relies on touch. No concept on when current technology will catch up with such an notion though.
