Asus Ultimate and Pro Fashion Netbooks
July 31, 2008

Ok, with Asus prepping itself to roll out a deluge of netbooks, it makes me wonder where the line amoung a netbook and notebook is drawn. After all, the Ultimate and Pro Fashion models aren’t performance slouches to say the least, featuring dual-core Intel Atom processors and expanded storage capacities. Word has it that one of the models (not too certain which one as it wasn’t revealed) will come with a four hour battery life, a 10.1″ widescreen LED backlit panel, and a 32GB SSD. With costs hitting anywhere from $700 to $900, you can get a decent budget notebook for the same amount with a larger screen, hard drive and even an optical drive thrown inside. Which camp are you on?

Greatest Hits Get Even Cheaper

Sony’s Greatest Hits collection for the PS3 is now selling at a cheap, cheap price (relatively speaking, of course) of $29.99, so for those of you who have yet to pick up Warhawk and a slew of other great titles, now’s the day to do so. What qualifies a game to fall under that category? Well, the title must have been on the market for 11 months and moved by half a million copies at the very least. Great for budget summer gaming fun.

GPS is such wonderful technology when used the right way – it is now being utilized by law enforcement officials to help track suspects of domestic violence and stalking, with Michigan being the latest state to jump on board the bandwagon. Heck, that new GPS-powered system even comes with an additional automated system that will wired past victims of the perpetrator’s presence. Hopefully it comes with a lifetime of calm-inducing pills to prevent heart attacks in these victims whenever he/she is alerted.

Davone Rithm Speaker
July 31, 2008

Is the Davone Rithm speaker cool looking, or what? that design hails from Denmark and features an 8″ coaxial driver along with a 1″ tweeter located in the center of the woofer. How does the bowed shape come into being, you ask? No, it is not some cosmic powers that made it look that way, but it was built up from layer upon layer of thin wood panels, and the design is there not just for aesthetic reasons but for acoustic and aesthetic considerations as well.

Logitech To construct Guitar Hero Controllers
July 31, 2008

Logitech is currently planning on developing and marketing premium instrument controllers for Guitar Hero World Tour, in moment for the latest instalment that will manufacture an appearance on the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Wii platforms. Logitech will cater for all the consoles mentioned, and is compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour’s advanced feature set by enabling players to elevate their Guitar Hero jam sessions to full-fledged rock concerts. It would be interesting to see what kind of quality these peripherals are made out of, since Logitech doesn’t precisely rely on super cheap plastic that’s easily breakable. I’m drooling already.
